For example: That said, if you can provide with plans of a 2-way center speaker with good horizontal spread that would work. I really don't care if it is 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, or whatever.

Dec 2, 2013 · They sound better than any speaker I have heard under 3-4 grand. I have heard a couple 10k speakers that sounded amazing but I have also heard a couple that were mediocre t best. In general though, a 10k speaker will usually have better finish and appearance than the average DIY speaker but the sound quality is highly dependent on the designer.

People frequently build a pair, compare it to their store bought speakers, and more often than not declare the DIY kits to be a great value for the preformance.

Nov 26, 2013 · These are some older Infinity bookshelf speakers. Basically, I plan to replace the tweeter, woofer, and crossover with the components from the Speedster kit from Meniscus Audio. The Infinity cabinet measurements are 7.5" W / 12.5" H / 6.5" D. The Speeder cabinet measurements are 6" W / 10" H / 8.5" D.
Is DIY worth it in terms of exponentially better sound...
Nov 25, 2020 · The expense in most speakers is the finish, and with DIY that is all up to your time and effort. I would highly recommend also looking at diysoundgroup kits as well, I've built like 7 pairs of their speakers at this point. Building kits is easy and this forum makes it super easy to solve any problems/questions you have.

Apr 12, 2017 · A DIY Dipole Speaker [OLD Definition] is MUCH Easier than one would think, presuming a separate Woofer Box covers up to about 500 or 800 Hz [lower if using Multiple Planar Magnetic Panels in a SQUARE Array]. Simply mount the Panels in a Wood FRAME [NO, NOT a BOX] and connect to (maybe an off-the-shelf) Crossover Network.
Looking for a bookshelf speaker Build/DIY/Kit with front ports

Would like a 5" or 6"-ish woofer as I want to keep things relatively small as this will go in a bedroom. Most nicer kits I've found offer rear ports, which I don't really want due to placement.
