A man was critically injured after being shot in the chest Tuesday night in North Amityville, Suffolk police said. Around 11:15 p.m., a 38-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle on Walnut Road when he was struck in the chest by a gunshot. The man, who was not identified by police, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

KALAMAZOO, MI – A man was critically injured in a shooting early Wednesday, May 28, Kalamazoo police said. Police reported the shooting at 1:29 a.m. in the area of Riverview Drive and East Paterson Street. The victim is a 42-year-old man who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Rayvon Savary, 24, was charged with felony counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, Chicago police said.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred Feb. 10 in the area of Francis and Hollis streets in Summit Township.

Police on Tuesday announced two additional arrests in connection with a March shooting that left four people injured in the Northern District of Baltimore.

Two people have been arrested and face charges in connection to an April 2024 shooting in Eldora, Iowa, where "gun play" killed a 13-year-old girl.

Jacqueline Villasenor pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter for the 2021 shooting death of her husband and fellow Chicago police officer, German Villasenor.
