BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sources with direct knowledge have confirmed to 2 On Side's Nate Benson that former Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia has submitted his retirement paperwork with the department as of Tuesday morning. The retirement is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.

Joseph Gramaglia, who has been Buffalo Police commissioner since 2022, has been told that he is out of a job. The commissioner was "blindsided" by the decision, said a source with knowledge of the move.
