Cavs suffer their latest inexplicable loss, falling to Charlotte Hornets in overtime, 119-111
Cleveland lost to the Charlotte Hornets, 119-111, in overtime on Sunday afternoon at Rocket Arena. “It’s upsetting,” said star guard Donovan Mitchell. “It’s stuff that we can control. I’m not going to use the word concern.”
With their rookie class developing as well as any in the league, the Charlotte Hornets are starting to rethink things. According to NBA insider Michael Scotto, the Charlotte Hornets now view Kon Knueppel as the face of the franchise.
Josh Green shot 39% from three last season and a blistering 41% from the corners (notably for tonight, 46% from the corners in the Spectrum Center), and he should see some cushy looks in Charlotte's reimagined offense that shoots the ninth most corner threes in the league.
Josh Giddey had 26 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds, Zach Collins added 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench and the Chicago Bulls erased a 13-point second half deficit to beat the Charlotte Hornets 129-126 and snap a seven-game losing streak.
Garland is clearly working through some foot pain. He was limping and grimacing throughout the second half. But that didn’t stop him from leading the Cavalier comeback that gave them a momentary lead in the fourth quarter. This was far from a perfect game, but it’s a season-high 26 points for DG.
After blowing a fourth quarter lead on Friday night, the Charlotte Hornets have a chance to redeem themselves less than 48 hours later.
Both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets may be without multiple key players in Sunday afternoon's matchup.
