After a months-long stalemate that included a public airing of his frustrations, a holdout, a “hold-in” and a trade request, Pro Bowl receiver Terry McLaurin agreed to a three-year contract extension worth more than $96 million with the Washington Commanders on Monday, according to multiple league sources.
When a player is ‘waived’, he is subject to the waiver wire, where any team can claim him and assume his current contract.
McLaurin’s extension will pay him $96 million with the chance to escalate, a person familiar with the deal said.
