The Los Angeles Dodgers have given Dave Roberts a massive contract extension after winning the World Series in 2024, but he still can't top Chicago Cubs skipper Craig Counsell when it comes to average annual value.

After years of postseason heartbreak, Roberts finally captured that full-season title in 2024 that he and the Dodgers had long coveted. With that championship in the rearview mirror, Los Angeles now aims to become the first franchise in 25 years to defend its crown.

Multiple reports on Monday said the Dodgers and Roberts have worked out a $32.4 million, four-year deal that would keep him with the club through 2029. At that figure he could have the highest average salary among managers, topping a five-year deal in 2024 for Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell worth more than $40 million.
