HOUSTON — Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes ran and did fielding on Wednesday for the first time since injuring his right hamstring in July, though both Paredes and Astros manager Joe Espada said it was too soon to say whether he could return this season.

The Boston Red Sox are reportedly interested in acquiring Paredes via trade, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. Boston's interest makes sense. Paredes will be 27 next season. He's under contract for two more years, and he posted an OPS+ 23 percent above league average at the plate last season.
