As millions of Americans hunker down for a massive winter storm sweeping the country, new maps are offering updated forecasts of snow and ice accumulations.

Snow has been falling over parts of Scotland that are covered by a Met Office yellow weather warnings for wintry weather.

By 2pm, wintry weather is forecast for a large area to the east and north of Greater Manchester, persisting into the evening.
