The 2026 Florida Python Challenge saw hundreds of participants compete to remove the invasive species from South Florida.

Florida's annual Python Challenge resulted in 280 invasive Burmese pythons being removed from the wild, according to wildlife officials.

This year's Ultimate Grand Prize winner and the recipient of $10,000 was Tom Rahill, who removed 96 Burmese pythons from the Everglades National Park during the competition.

Not a call it gets everyday, the Monmouth County SPCA removed an 8-foot Burmese python Sunday that had slid under the shed of a Freehold residence.

Over 900 participants helped remove 280 invasive Burmese pythons from South Florida during the 2026 Florida Python Challenge, according to FWC.
