Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day and with less than 50 days until the presidential election, there is a large push to increase participation among voters in November and beyond.

It's National Voter Registration Day, and voters across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are encouraged to check their status.

The general election will take place on Nov. 5, so there is still plenty of time to familiarize yourself with candidates and register to vote.
