A judge has ruled that three Libertarian candidates seeking U.S. House seats in Iowa will not appear on the ballot this November.

There’s a fast-approaching deadline for making a decision in the case. The Iowa Secretary of State’s Office was set to certify ballots for the 2024 general election Sept. 3, but a judge granted a temporary injunction to stop the process so that the Libertarian candidates’ appeal could be considered.

The Iowa Supreme Court this week upheld a decision made by a State Objections Panel last month that barred three Libertarian federal congressional candidates from the ballot in November. The long litigious process began in January when the Libertarian Party of Iowa (LPIA) held its precinct caucuses and county conventions on the same day.
