A Ukrainian official says Kyiv has agreed to the terms of a deal which would give the US access to mineral deposits.

Both sides tout the framework deal as important, but its most contentious element—military support to Ukraine—has yet to be negotiated.

A copy of the agreement obtained by The New York Times says that the United States “supports Ukraine’s effort to obtain security guarantees needed to establish lasting peace.”
