After being snubbed by the College Football Playoff, Notre Dame has pulled itself out of the postseason entirely. Hours after being left out of the 12-team playoff, the Fighting Irish announced that “as a team, we’ve decided to withdraw our name from consideration for a bowl game following the 2025 season,” the football team posted on X.

Now, we are seeing some of the roster fallout that is expected at the end of the season. Notably, backup quarterback Kenny Minchey has announced that he will enter the transfer portal when it opens at the start of the new year.

Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua told Yahoo Sports the school signed an MOU, noting the Irish would reach the CFP if ranked in top 12 starting next year.
