The BCCI selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, has decided to exclude Jasprit Bumrah from India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, despite his medical reports indicating that he had completed rehabilitation.

Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury, with Harshit Rana stepping in as his replacement. Additionally, Varun Chakaravarthy joins the squad, replacing Yashasvi Jaiswal,

The BCCI issued a statement, saying, "Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury. The Men's Selection Committee has named Harshit Rana as Bumrah's replacement."

India are in Group A and will begin their Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh on 20 February before taking on Pakistan three days later and then New Zealand on 2 March

It is already a huge blow for Team India ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 that premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah is not part of the squad. Bumrah is easily the best in the world and a proven match-winner for the country.
