Athena Health Care Systems told the state labor department earlier this week that as part of plans to close the homes that it would layoff hundreds of employees.

Nurses will be the hardest hit, with Nursing positions making up 157 of Sheriden Woods' layoffs and 102 of Countryside Manor's.
