The upcoming summit between President Donald Trump and his counterpart Vladimir Putin is being used by the Kremlin to divide the U.S. from Europe over the war in Ukraine, according to analysis.

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine would reject any Russian proposal to give up the Donbas region in exchange for a ceasefire, warning it could be used by Russia as a springboard for future attacks.

To date, Putin has not accepted the ceasefire, but he has proposed a framework for an agreement that would allow Russia to retain most of the Ukrainian territory. In response, Zelenskyy firmly stated that Ukraine would not surrender its land to invaders.
