Tenafly native Edan Alexander, who was recently released from Hamas captivity, met with President Trump to celebrate his freedom.

"I am happy to announce that Edan Alexander, an American citizen who has been held hostage since October 2023, is coming home to his family," Trump's post said.

Edan Alexander was born to Israeli parents, Adi and Yael, in Tel Aviv, but the family moved to the U.S. when he was a baby, first to Maryland, before settling in Tenafly in 2008.

Released after almost two years of captivity, Edan Alexander, joined by his parents, is scheduled to meet with President Trump and the first lady.
